About the Feldenkrais Method
|
As human beings, we are endowed with an extraordinary
capacity for recovery from trauma and injury. We can
spontaneously develop new ways of functioning, restore
mobility and refine our abilities in a lifelong process.
However, we can also fall into self-defeating patterns of
movement which become so ingrained that we are no longer
aware of them. These patterns put additional stress on
our joints, muscles and bones, eventually leading to
chronic pain, stiffness and other problems.
Fortunately, there is a way out of this dilemma.
The Feldenkrais Method ® offers a powerful, proven
approach for overcoming barriers to better functioning.
It uses gentle non-invasive movements and directed
awareness that invoke our inherent abilities to restore
ease of movement and flexibility, reduce or eliminate
pain, achieve deep relaxation, improve performance and
enhance our overall well being.
